At a time when women were not represented in the workforce, Spagnoli built a successful operation and was the first to introduce angora yarns into knitwear. In addition to the clothing company, Spagnoli created Italian chocolate brand Perugina. The Luisa Spagnoli company has remained in the Spagnoli family through the 21st century, and today operates more than 150 branded stores throughout Italy and 35 internationally.
